What does frosted window film cost in Perth?
Frosted film is quoted per square metre of glass, the same way as other architectural film. A single bathroom window is a small job; a full office fit-out with patterned glass and a printed logo is not.

What moves the price
- How much glass. One bathroom window versus every meeting room in an office is a different conversation.
- Plain or patterned. Plain frost is the baseline. Gradients, geometric patterns and printed designs cost more.
- Custom printing. A logo or bespoke artwork adds a design and print step.
- Access and glass shape. Standard rectangles are quick. Arched, angled and shower glass needs templating.

Where frosted film works best
Bathrooms and ensuites
The most common job we do. Bathroom windows, shower screens and the small high windows that let in good light but face straight at a neighbour's fence.
Around the house
Front door sidelights, street-facing windows, internal room dividers, home office partitions and glass cabinet fronts.
Offices and fit-outs
Meeting room glass, reception areas, partitions and cubicle dividers. It defines a private space without building a wall, which is why it comes up during refurbishments.
For street-facing retail glass, frosted film pairs naturally with anti-graffiti film, which takes the damage instead of the glass underneath.
How it works
Privacy without losing the light
A blind blocks the view in both directions and blocks the light with it. Frosted film obscures the view while letting daylight through, and diffuses it across the room rather than letting it beam in.
The result in a bathroom or a meeting room is a space that stays bright and feels private, with nothing to open or close. It also softens glare on screens, which is a useful side effect in a glass-walled office.
It works at night too
This is the practical difference between frosted film and reflective privacy film, and it's worth understanding before you choose.
Reflective film works by bouncing light back, so it gives you daytime privacy and then reverses after dark once your interior lights are on. Frosted film works by diffusing light rather than reflecting it, so it obscures the view in both directions at all hours. For a bathroom, that distinction is the whole decision.
If heat rather than privacy is your main concern, home window tinting is the product you want instead.
The honest comparison
Professional film or a roll from Bunnings?
Plenty of people frost a window themselves and are perfectly happy with it. It's worth knowing where that works and where it doesn't, rather than finding out halfway through a Saturday.
DIY film is fine for
- Small, square, easily reached windows
- Rentals, where you'll want to take it off again — static cling is designed for exactly this
- A temporary fix while you decide what you actually want
- Anywhere a slightly imperfect edge won't bother you
Worth having done properly
- Large panes, where getting film on square without creases is genuinely difficult
- Shower screens, which are wet, awkward and unforgiving
- Arched, angled or non-rectangular glass needing a template
- Gradients, patterns or a printed logo
- Anything you want to still look right in ten years
The difference is mostly in the material and the preparation. Retail film is thinner and often static-cling; professional film is adhesive-backed, cut to each pane, and applied to properly prepared glass. Preparation is what stops the bubbling and edge-lifting that DIY applications tend to develop in the first year — and it's the part that's easiest to rush.

Patterns, gradients and custom designs
Frosted film isn't only plain white. It comes in a range of opacities, patterns and textures, and can be printed with custom designs.

Installation
How it's done, and what it disrupts
Most of the disruption people expect doesn't happen. There's no curing period before the windows are usable — they're back in service as soon as we're finished — and installation is quiet, with no debris.
- Measure
Every pane measured individually. Templates made for arched, angled or shaped glass.
- Cut
Film cut to fit each pane, with patterns and gradients aligned to the glass rather than trimmed to suit.
- Prepare
Glass cleaned thoroughly. This is the step that decides whether an installation lasts, so we don't rush it.
- Apply & trim
Film applied, worked out, edges trimmed. Usable immediately, no drying period.
Cleaning and care
Warm water with a few drops of mild detergent and a soft microfibre cloth. Gentle sweeping motions rather than scrubbing, and dry with a clean cloth to avoid water spots.
Avoid ammonia-based cleaners, vinegar and abrasive pads. Ammonia in particular is in a lot of standard glass sprays and breaks down film adhesive over time. In a commercial building, brief the cleaners — it's where most avoidable damage comes from.
